Peer Review Process

The Journal of Exercise Physiology and Human Performance (JOSPHE) applies a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure the quality, originality, scientific validity, and relevance of all published articles. In this process, the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed throughout the review process.

Initial Editorial Assessment

All submitted manuscripts are first evaluated by the Editorial Team to determine their suitability for the journal's focus and scope, compliance with submission requirements, and adherence to publication ethics. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's standards may be rejected without external review.

Reviewer Assignment

Manuscripts that successfully pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript's subject area. Reviewers are selected based on their academic qualifications, research experience, and publication records.

Review Criteria

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on the following criteria:

  • Originality and novelty of the study

  • Scientific significance and contribution to the field

  • Methodological rigor and validity

  • Quality of data analysis and interpretation

  • Clarity of presentation and organization

  • Adequacy of references and literature review

  • Relevance to the journal's focus and scope

  • Ethical compliance and research integrity

Editorial Decision

Based on reviewers' recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief or handling editor may reach one of the following decisions:

  • Accept Submission

  • Minor Revisions Required

  • Major Revisions Required

  • Reject Submission

When revisions are requested, authors must submit a revised manuscript along with a detailed response addressing reviewers' comments.

Final Decision

The final publication decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief after considering reviewers' recommendations, authors' revisions, and the overall quality of the manuscript.

Confidentiality

All manuscripts submitted to JOSPHE are treated as confidential documents. Reviewers and editors must not disclose, discuss, or use unpublished material for personal or professional advantage.

Publication Ethics

The peer-review process is conducted in accordance with internationally recognized standards of scholarly publishing and publication ethics to ensure fairness, objectivity, transparency, and academic integrity.
